We welcomed Professor Juergen Beck, Dr. Katharina Wolf, and Dr. Amir El Rahal from the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Freiburg in Germany, and held a lecture at our department. In their lectures, they presented the latest research results on imaging diagnosis and surgical treatment of spontaneous intracranial hypotension (low cerebrospinal fluid pressure). There was a lot of Q&A and lively discussion, and all the participants were able to deepen their knowledge. Furthermore, this lecture was a very valuable opportunity that marked a new step in academic exchange between Nagoya University and Freiburg University.
We invited Professor Roger Stupp of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in the United States to give a lecture at our department. Professor Stupp is a world-renowned expert in the treatment of malignant brain tumors, particularly glioblastoma, and as the developer of the “Stupp Protocol” he has contributed to extending the survival period of glioblastoma patients. This treatment is now used as the standard treatment for glioblastoma around the world. In his lecture, he presented information about chemotherapy for glioblastoma, and there was a lot of discussion and debate, with many questions and answers, and all the participants were able to deepen their knowledge.
